SANDRA CHUNG - ProHealth Dental

Pediatric Dentistry
  • Education: DDS
Dr. Sandra Chung received her DDS degree from Howard University College of Dentistry, followed by her General Practice Residency at North Shore University Hospital. Thereafter, she served as the first civilian Senior Dental Officer at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. While she enjoyed working at the Academy, she developed an increasing appreciation for the dental concerns of children, particularly children with special needs, since the birth of her daughter. Being a mom has blessed her with greater compassion and patience for children and empathy for their parents. Dr. Chung continued her training and obtained her specialty degree in Pediatric Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital and has been involved in several dental outreach programs, including the annual Give Kids a Smile®, Grace International, Inc., Port-au-Prince, Haiti and the Indian Health Service in Bethel, Alaska. Dr. Chung currently volunteers as an attending in the Department of Dental Medicine at Northwell Health and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and New York State Dental Association. In her free time, Dr. Chung enjoys spending time with her family, binge watching shows on Netflix, practicing yoga and running in Central Park while listening to inspirational music on her phone.

With the ongoing threat of coronavirus, the American Dental Association has issued a guideline that all elective dental procedures be postponed for three weeks. We have decided to follow this guideline and, thus, will be rescheduling appointments starting the week of April 19.

However, to address any dental emergencies that may arise, we will be maintaining office hours Monday through Saturday throughout our Lake Success, Huntington, Howard Beach, Astoria and White Plains locations listed below.

We’ve also added teledentistry so you can connect with one of our expert dentists  through your laptop, tablet, or smartphone and have a face to face consultation. You can call us at 855-PHD-CARE or 718-DENTIST to register for an appointment.

Please be assured that our offices are being operated under CDC guidelines including screening all patients who pose a risk of having coronavirus.

We will also be available via email ( and telephone (855-PHD-CARE or 718-DENTIST) to answer any questions or address any clinical concerns you may have.

We know these are difficult times and want to do all that we can to fulfill our mission to address not just your dental and oral health needs, but to promote your overall health and well-being.

We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you when we resume normal operations . In the meantime, please do all that you can to stay safe and healthy.
